COPPER BELLS
Hand-forged copper bells, created in collaboration with master artisan Janmamad Salemamad Luhar, whose family has practiced this craft for over three centuries. Each piece is designed through ABHY’s architectural lens — balancing proportion, texture, and resonance. More than décor, these bells are sculptures of sound and heritage, crafted for mindful living.
Copper bells that echo the desert wind

At ABHY Design House, every piece begins with a story — one rooted in time, tradition, and craftsmanship. Our copper bells are created in collaboration with master artisan Janmamad Luhar, whose family from the village of Kutch, has been shaping sound in metal for over three centuries.
Artisan belongs to the historic Luhar community, where the craft of iron-coated copper bells is passed from father to son. Each bell is hand-forged from reclaimed iron sheets, shaped into form without welding, and coated in powdered copper before being fired in clay-bound furnaces — a process that softens the metal and refines its tone.
Originally tuned for pastoral herders who identified their animals by sound, these bells hold an ancient language of rhythm and belonging. At ABHY, we reimagine them as architectural sound sculptures — merging craft and design to celebrate silence, resonance, and timeless materiality. Each bell is not just an object but a collaboration between memory and modernity, where tradition finds new voice through form and proportion.

Behind the Craft
Every ABHY piece carries the story of its making — from raw material to refined form. Our collections are born through months of research, on-site collaboration, and hands-on work with master artisans across India. Each process is documented with care — capturing the rhythm of craft, the textures of material, and the quiet precision of making.
We believe that transparency is part of luxury.
For collectors, curators, and design collaborators seeking a deeper connection with our process, pre-production imagery and documentation are available upon request.
